Long India: The Geopolitics and Geoeconomics of Bharat's Rise

GLS University's Faculty of Business Administration (FOBA) recently hosted a landmark event, Shatranj 2024, featuring the esteemed author and economist Harsh Gupta "Madhusudan." Under the theme "Long India: The Geopolitics and Geoeconomics of Bharat's Rise," Gupta offered a compelling analysis of India's strategic positioning on the global stage. He dissected complex global economic dynamics, highlighting America's cultural and technological influence and China's dominance in electric vehicle production.

Gupta traced India's economic journey from its historical craftsmanship roots to its current emergence as a global powerhouse, emphasizing Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar's role in steering India's growth and the country's demographic advantage over aging competitors like China. His bold prediction that India is on the verge of becoming the world's third-largest economy, illustrated by success stories like Zoho, left the audience inspired about the nation's future.

Advocating for strategic free trade while protecting national interests, Gupta's insights resonated deeply with attendees. Students actively engaged in discussions and Q&A sessions, showcasing their keen interest and analytical skills. The event provided unparalleled insights into global economic trends, underscoring GLS University's commitment to nurturing future leaders.
